I’ve made a Will from a pack I bought in a shop

Whilst utilising a do-it-yourself Will is better than passing away without a Will, it is still important to have this Will checked by a professional. Issues can arise due to the way that the Will has been written, causing it to be legally invalid or worse still, the actual kit itself can be legally invalid, meaning that despite your best efforts, your inheritance will not be properly preserved on your death. Often, these packs contain wording buried in the terms and conditions that the packs are not a substitute for proper legal advice, as many things that you wish to include may cause large legal ramifications. Some others include wording that excludes liability in the event that the document is proven not to be legally valid. In this event, there is no recourse for your family for any inheritance that they have lost or costs that they have incurred to retain the inheritance that you intended to leave them.
